Choose Yer OWN ADVENTOURS

All Aboard the Performance Truck!

And just who IS Ron Ehmke, anyway? He's a writer, performer, media artist, curator,  archivist, editor, minister, and other things. He often refers to himself in the third person. This site is a work-in-progress, but so is life itself, so keep stopping by and see if anything has happened since your last visit.

Everything Ron Does is a lot. So it is taking me a lot of time to map out the site. As in, 17 years and counting. Or maybe more like 3. I CAN'T BE EXPECTED TO REMEMBER EVERYTHING, YOU DAMN BRATS!

So please come back often to watch this website grow. And please send me feedback—I consider everything I do to be open-source at this point. Except the still from Amelie on this page, which has nothing to do with my work. I mean, I liked the movie just fine, although I can't say I loved it. But I digress.

Why is there a picture of Amélie on a page about Ron Ehmke?

Beats me. Squarespace provided this still from the French film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain, directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. I did not see the movie when everybody else did, and thus did not get why everybody went apeshit over it for a good two or three years.

The film launched the careers of Audrey Tautou and her hair stylist. It involves a bottle cap and a box of childhood memorabilia. There is much talk of happiness. That's pretty much all I remember. It's kind of insufferably adorable, although I did enjoy it more than, say, your average Will Ferrell comic romp.
